40 years ago, Laura WON the prestigious Grand Prize for "The Lucky One" at the 13th Tokyo Music Festival held at the Nippon Budokan Hall in the heart of the city on April 1, 1984! She beat out 14 other finalists from 9 countries, and the BEST part is Laura had NO IDEA before arriving in Tokyo that it was a COMPETITIVE festival! The award was presented by singer Linda Ronstadt and arranger, composer, and orchestrator Nelson Riddle. Laura received a trophy and a check for 3 million yen. Laura was thrilled and just speechless, putting the mic over her heart - such a wonderful accomplishment and moment for her!
